Education it is more than an Economic investment , it is an essential input upon which the development of life and survival of man depends, the systematic efforts to be hired to fortify the society in order to convey the knowledge, value, attitude and skills.

  India was a land of Wonder!

The Fame of Indian Culture , wealth religious, philosophies, art , architecture as well as its educational practices had been applauded far and wide. The Education system of ancient times was regarded as a source for the knowledge, traditions and practices that guided and encouraged humanity.

The Ingress of the foreign colonizers and undesirable policies of the then rulers, made the country lose almost all its lavishness both in wealth and knowledge.

1830’s Lord Macaulay’s education policy replaced the conventional teaching and learning methodology of India, the then new policy was encircled to the model subjects such as science and Mathematics ,Philosophy and Metaphysics where speculated as off the point.

With the motto of bringing ‘’world-class’’ English education and creating a ‘class’ The New Education policy converted the Instinct intelligence into proletariat.

The Modern Education promotes peer competition, rather than teamwork and one that accepts the need of the one which outweighs the need of many. The socially toxic component of Narcissism is the off shoot of modern education, the increased focus on individualism place greater value of young people’s individual achievement over their Civic duty is a threat to sustainable growth.

No other country has understood better than Japan that the failure of shaping the national identity is due to the components in the Education system, after the brutal nuclear attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki Japanese implied the pressing need to retrieve the human qualities for the endurance of the world in spite of Narcissism , they presumed that education is the means to empower children and adults alike to become active participants in the transformation of society, pioneering the qualities of love, respect, empathy and cooperation.

A Child’s mind is like  tabula rasa it will lay hold whatever it secure ,on this footing  pre-school education plays a vital role in fabricating the child's reasoning, attitude and intelligence .The whole world is in a grand Marathon to put the pupils into the scary world of competition,which will boost the Narcissism. In the nick of time Japan is out of this panic alert ! they are putting manners before knowledge, In Japan students don't take exam until they reach 10 years , the goal of the first few years of school was not to judge the child's knowledge but to establish good manners and to develop their characters ,students are taught to respect other people and to be gentle to animals and nature, how to be generous compassionate and empathetic, to get the sense of Oneness and appreciate the minor and major works most Japanese schools do not employ Janitors students have to clean the classrooms cafeterias and even washrooms.

Apart from these subjects of Discovery innovation and invention Japanese art teaching traditional calligraphy and poetry its students to elevate the sense of Oneness between all age groups.

India should get the salient essence back to the soil to re-institute itself as a knowledge -hub.

There is an exigency to think about ancient education system in India. when we Deeme to our history it is awe inspiring !! we knew Mathematics, Theorems discovered planet calculated distance between earth and other planets etc, but how our ancestors perceive all and the enquiry confessed that the solid education system and The wide  shelter of Gurukula is the reason.

Ancient Education system was the grounding for the integrity of life as Swami Vivekananda cited Education should be the Man making and Character building .

The great Legacy of Guru Shishya Parampara produced plentiful Gurus and shishyas  like Dronacharya Arjuna, Chanakya -Chandragupta Ramakrishna Swami Vivekananda and many more.

Ancient Indian education system was equivalent with today's part of Japanese Education Policy

Education in ancient India was free from external control the ideas of education had been very grand Noble and high in Ancient India that considered the homogeneousness.

Modern education system and learning outcomes are shaped by a range of Technical and political complexities which begone the Guru Parampara . After Independence the people of the country got the fullest opportunity to mould  the Educational policy as per the needs of the nation to compete with the fast changing time ,but the opportunity was not free from heavy responsibilities .The country needed a large number of technicians ,engineers ,scientist and many skilled workers who could impart a new shape various things in the developing economy of the country. Making education available to all had become the priority for the government.

Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad India's first Minister of Education, envisaged strong Central Government control over education throughout  the country and established University education system in  1948-49, Secondary Education Commission 1952-53, University Grants Commission 1962, which introduced 10 + 2 + 3 education formula.

The Neharu Government sponsored the development of high quality  scientific Education institution  such as The Indian Institute of Technology , National Council of educational research and training.

 National policy of education 1968

Indira Gandhi announced the first national policy on Education in 1968,that  proposed equal educational opportunity in order to achieve National integrity .The policy focused on three language formula

Rajiv Gandhi introduced new education policy in 1986, and called for ‘’Child Centre approach’’ in primary education and  launched operation blackboard.

1986 NEP was modified in 1992  by PV Narsimha Rao government, based on ‘common minimum programme’ to conduct common entrance examination on all India basis for admission to professional and Technical programmes in the country.

Government of India vide resolution dated 18th October 2001 laid down 3 exam schemeJEE, AIEEE  & SLEEE

 NEP 2020 it is a revision of the curriculum and pedagogical structure from 10 + 2 system to 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 system it's an effort to optimise learning for students based on cognitive development of children.

The Traditional Education system was a core of the national progress, now all the educational policies are focusing towards enhancement of the lives of people through education, the time has arrived to take remedial measures to transform the education system into New era, one without mislaying its quintessence.
