Experience at Far Eastern Federal University(FEFU)

Medical profession was, is and will remain a noble profession. Doctors are professionals and not businessmen. The suffix Dr is given to only doctors. Article 18 of the constitution does not allow any titles but we all are allowed to prefix Dr in front of our name so that we can be differentiated from others and are available to any person who is in need.

Hi everyone, I’m Hashmitha Mohan an ex-BGSian. After pursuing my 12th, I attended my NEET Exam, where I succeed  by scoring 181/720, which was not such a big score but surely a good to qualify NEET. As I was in search of Medical Colleges approved by MCI out of country. It was then I found out about FEFU, RUSSKY ISLAND, VLADIVOSTOK.

FEFU has lots of things going around it like it is on an island, the campus is huge and the ambience is good, you have complete freedom in the campus. The college got good experienced English-speaking lecturers for the medical school, well equipped library, laboratories are wonderful, the hospital is well maintained. Bus facility Is provided to travel around the campus, it is an awesome experience. There is a sea front to chill out and a beach nearby to have fun. We have flexible timetable and there is Russian language and Latin language classes here, which is compulsory to attend.

Hostel rooms depends on which type of sharing you get, there are 2/3/4 sharing rooms, a common washing machine and a common kitchen area for 10 rooms which is equipped with induction stove and microwave. The washrooms are dry toilets, you get a fridge, cupboards, study table, table lamp and shelves in your room.

Living in here isn’t that different from home but only thing you got to bear the freezing cold winds of the day and the thick fog of the night. Self-cooking is the only option you can survive on if you want home-made food or else you get frozen food in stores which are obviously not Indian food. Talking about stores, there are 3 minimarkets in the campus, a saloon, stationary shop, and café everywhere. Self-studying is important, cause once a lecture is done, we have exam on that in the next class. Marketing here is little difficult because the localities speak only Russian language and you even find sign boards also in Russian language, so eventually we should have a little knowledge of how to speak Russian. For monthly groceries you need to travel to the mainland by bus/taxi from the island. No much difference in the grocery cost, it almost cost’s the same as in Bangalore but, Indian spices are hard to find. So far this is my experience in FEFU, RUSSKY ISLAND, VLADIVOSTOK.
